劉開 Liu Kai｜台灣平面設計大師

劉開作品是台灣的文化資產，作品厚度深具人文思考、藝術創作、哲思、地域歷史與文化，所呈現的張力若巨槌直視槌鑿思考。

劉開的平面作品，意象精準、人文、手感、實驗風格強烈，設計風格以東方文化為底蘊，深蘊哲道觸動人心。

他接受訪談時說：「在一般的電影、卡通、多媒體或是其他型態的表演藝術中，它有很多的時間去累積情緒。但是平面設計不同﹔它只有一個機會，就像是走鋼索一樣只有千分之一秒，它沒有太多的行為去輔助；而做電影海報我要面對的就是在那麼多的情節、橋段中，我怎麼去找出這千分之一秒的引爆點。」

劉開 Liu Kai

1957 年生於台灣台北舊城迪化街，原創性極高的平面設計師。 作品提煉草莽底層的符號，強烈的創作實驗風格，揉合台灣本土視覺符號。以手工藝師製作細緻的態度和藝術家的獨到眼光，打開了特屬於台灣解嚴世代生猛有力的文化圖像，創造現代視覺語體，至今持續影響台灣文化設計的風貌。
